First of all, I teach English here in Mexico, I am here in mexico because my family decided to move here in Saltillo a city located in the middle of Mexico.I would like to say that these books, the Interchange English learning books from Cambridge university have made my life as a teacher a whole lot easier and for once in my life i am actually proud of what i have achieved with these books.
Ok, So not just only is this book simple and resourceful but it makes learning English simply a more funner way to learn a language. I have been using these books for about 8 months now and i haven't come across anything that makes teaching a challenge. Everyone understands and enjoys learning through these comprehensive books and the best thing about them (In the Teachers edition book) is that they give you useful tips and help you on the best way to describe the lesson. Not only do they give you everything you need to successfully teach grammar, vocabulary, speaking and listening exercises, but they also give you some examples of their own that you can write on the board with structures on how to make sure that your students fully comprehend everything and anything you may be teaching them, especially the grammar exercises.
There are several Interchange books, Interchange Intro (for beginners), Interchange one (the red book slightly intermediate), Interchange two (Blue book progressing to advanced) and Interchange 3 (The green book advanced) If you are aware i do believe there are more books but these are the books that i have been using... I also used a book called Passages but i do not believe that is made by the interchange, but thats another story... Anyway...
The Interchange books come with 3 CD's per book and a video DVD, the Cd's are for the exercises throughout the book, for example the conversation exercises and the speaking and listening ones. The DVD is for the video lessons which usually take up to one hour.(note) You have to buy the video books separate from the teachers book but i would highly recommend buying the two as each unit in the teachers book has a video at the end and there are in total 16 units per book. I read that it would be best to tell people or buyers that i will be getting a commission if any of you decide to buy this book and i am advertising this book on this blog. Thats just to let you know... I said this because i want to be honest with you all and i think it is right to be like that, and to let you all know that i do have a copy of each interchange book and have brought the product personally and all the information i stated here is completely true.
Hi, friend, good to find your blog and be able to commuunicate with someone on this subject.
ReplyDeleteI have a questions on the use of these books and hope you can help me out.
I am also here in Mexico.
My question is that I bought the 4 full contacts to teach my little brother and there are areas where it says "Listen to the rest of the convesation" and I can not find "the rest of the convesations"
Specifics:
Full contact Level 1, unit 1 "Please call me Beth" page 3:
There`s an audio called "3 CONVERSATION What is Seoul Like?
"A: Listen and Practice."
I listened to the audio which is in the CD. Immediatelly after this it says:
"B: Listen to the rest of the convesation. What City is David From? What`s it like?
This "B" conversation I can not find anywhere.
There are many other such indications of "Listen to the rest of the convesation " that I can not find.
Same book page 9:
"4 CONVERSATION Where do you work?" At the end of this convesation there is another "Listen to the rest of the convesation".
Thoughout the units at the end of CONVERSATIONS there are indications of this. Seems like all units have this. But I`m looking for these "Rests of the convesations" and can not find anywhere on the two CDs (self study audios and CD ROM video) that information.
Have you noticed this? Can you please help me locate these missing pieces to the course?
Or indicate where to look?

Education is the best foundation that you could ever have. The book looks interesting, I need to read more comments so that I can decide whether to buy it or not.
